New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and Delhi Police, has successfully secured the extradition of Prabhdeep Singh, a Red Notice-listed fugitive, from Azerbaijan to India.

Prabhdeep Singh was wanted in connection with a major narcotics case registered at the Special Cell Police Station, New Delhi, under multiple sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Investigations revealed that Singh was the chief organizer of a large-scale drug trafficking network, which led to the seizure of substantial quantities of narcotics and the arrest of several co-conspirators.

At the request of Delhi Police, the CBI facilitated the issuance of a Red Notice against Singh through INTERPOL.

Following his arrest in Azerbaijan, a formal extradition request was submitted, and after completion of due legal process, Singh was handed over to Indian authorities.

A three-member escort team from Delhi Police traveled to Baku to bring Singh back, and he arrived safely in Delhi on May 13, 2026.

As India’s National Central Bureau for INTERPOL, the CBI coordinates with law enforcement agencies nationwide through BHARATPOL for international cooperation.

Thanks to the combined efforts of MEA, MHA, and multiple law enforcement authorities, over 160 wanted criminals have been repatriated to India in recent years.
