Rajouri Jail Clash Leaves Four Staff Members Hurt
Srinagar: Four jail personnel were injured while trying to control a fight between inmates at District Jail Dhangri, Rajouri, late Saturday night. Officials said police and jail staff immediately arrived at the scene and attempted to bring the situation under control.
According to sources, a fight suddenly broke out between inmates in the jail premises. Seeing the severity of the fight, police and jail personnel immediately intervened. Four personnel were injured while trying to stop the fight and separate the inmates.
The injured personnel were identified as Constable Pawan Khajuria, Maqsood Ahmed, SPO Prem Singh, and Taj Din (jail staff). All were immediately admitted to Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri, for treatment. Officials stated that their condition is currently stable.
Following the incident, the jail administration claimed to have brought the situation under control. The inmates were separated and security has been increased in the jail premises. However, further details about the incident are yet to be received.
The district administration stated that security has been tightened to prevent any major violence in the prison. They wished all the injured a speedy recovery and ordered a further investigation.
