Gwalior: A woman has been booked for allegedly pouring boiling water on her husband during a domestic dispute in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district, leaving him with burn injuries. The man's father also sustained burns while trying to intervene, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on June 27 in the Pichhor Tiraha area under the jurisdiction of the Dabra City police station.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Jayraj Kuber, complainant Bhupendra Singh Kushwaha (30) alleged that his wife threw hot water on him during an argument.
Police said the woman's family members had visited the couple earlier in the day to counsel them following recurring marital disputes. After they left, Bhupendra allegedly returned home under the influence of alcohol and assaulted his wife.
Officials said water was being heated on an induction stove for cooking when the woman allegedly picked up the vessel and poured the boiling water on her husband.
Bhupendra suffered burn injuries on his waist and legs. His father, who attempted to intervene, also sustained burns on his legs during the incident, police said.
Police have registered a case against the woman and launched an investigation into the incident.
