New Delhi: After a successful theatrical run, Dhanush’s much-loved directorial venture Idli Kadai has officially made its OTT debut. Released in cinemas on October 1, the heartwarming family drama is now streaming on Netflix in multiple languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Soon after its digital premiere, Idli Kadai began trending across social media platforms, with fans hailing it as one of Dhanush’s finest works to date. Many viewers called the film “emotionally charged” and “deeply relatable,” applauding Dhanush’s ability to capture raw emotions on screen.

Despite stiff competition, Idli Kadai managed to gross Rs 50.39 crore worldwide, with an impressive opening day collection of Rs 11 crore.
Idli Kadai tells the story of Murugan, a young man from a small village whose ambitions lead him to the city. Leaving behind his parents and their humble idli shop, Murugan dreams of a bigger life. However, fate brings him back home years later, reconnecting him to his roots and teaching him profound lessons about love, family, and identity.
