Zubeen Garg to receive a musical tribute
Mumbai: The Women's ODI Cricket World Cup begins on Tuesday, September 30th. The opening ceremony will be held before the India-Sri Lanka match at the Guwahati Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Assam. However, due to the passing of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, the opening ceremony was shortened. A tribute to Zubeen Garg will now be given at the opening ceremony. Several artists, including Shreya Ghoshal, will perform in tribute to Zubeen Garg.
A 40-minute musical tribute to Zubeen Garg

A 40-minute program dedicated to Zubeen Garg will be held, paying tribute to the Assamese singer. During the opening match, legendary singer Shreya Ghoshal will sing a song as a tribute to Zubeen Garg. Other renowned singers from the region, including Papon, Zoy Barua, and the Shillong Choir Chamber, are also participating in this musical tribute.
5,000 Free Tickets to Be Distributed to Zubeen's Fans
An official stated that to celebrate unity through sports and culture and encourage public participation in global sporting events, the GSA will distribute 5,000 free tickets for the opening match to Zubeen Garg's fans.
Shreya Ghoshal Arrives in Guwahati
Singer Shreya Ghoshal has arrived in Assam to perform and pay a musical tribute to Zubeen. A video has surfaced from the Guwahati airport, showing the singer in a red outfit.
India and Sri Lanka are jointly hosting the World Cup
The Women's ODI Cricket World Cup will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament, which runs from September 30 to November 2, will be played in Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam and Navi Mumbai in India, while Colombo is scheduled to host the World Cup matches in Sri Lanka.
