New Delhi: The temperature is increasing rapidly in the last days of April. People's health is being affected due to strong sunlight and heat wave. The cases of heat stroke are increasing rapidly, especially among those who stay outside for a long time or work hard.

What is heat stroke?

According to doctors, when the body temperature reaches 104°F or more and the body is unable to cool itself, then heat stroke occurs. This happens due to staying in extreme heat or working too much in strong sunlight.

There are two types of heat stroke:

  • Exertional: More among players and laborers
  • Non-exertional: more in the elderly and children

Its main symptoms

Ignoring the symptoms of heat stroke can be dangerous.

  • high fever
  • headache
  • dizziness or confusion
  • fainting or seizures
  • hot and dry skin
  • heart palpitations

If timely treatment is not received, it can also be fatal.
