New Delhi: In the past few years India has seen a sharp rise in the risk of diabetes heart disease and cancer. Despite the fact that the risk of chronic diseases has rapidly increased globally, India continues to have a high prevalence of these conditions due to its large population.

The primary cause of these chronic diseases in adults and adolescents in India according to a report released last year by Dalbergs State of Sports and Physical Activity (SAPA) is a sedentary lifestyle. Many peoples levels of physical activity are even below the WHOs recommended level.

In the meantime the study that was published in the Lancet medical journal is extremely encouraging especially considering India's escalating health issues. Health professionals thought that yoga, long-distance running or walking and mild exercise lowered a lot of health risks until recently.

But according to two recent studies taking just 7000 steps a day can lower the risk of developing a number of chronic illnesses.

How Report Describe A 7000-Step Walk?

The study titled Daily Steps and Health Outcomes in Adults: A systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis was published in The Lancet. Citing 57 studies on up to 1 point 6 million people it examined human activity daily.

It was found that the standard for improved health is 7000 steps per day. There is also a attainable objective that has positive health effects. In particular when compared to the 10000-step benchmark for which there is no reliable scientific source. The University of Sydney carried out the research which was published in The Lancet.

7000 steps per day has been shown to be an effective way to prevent major health risks. particularly with heart disease dementia and cancer. In addition to lowering the risk of many diseases this is the norm for enhancing the body system in the absence of disease according to Melody Ding an epidemiologist at the University of Sydney who oversaw the study. Walking less than 7000 steps a day according to him reduces some health benefits whereas walking more than 7000 steps a day only slightly increases them.

Guidelines Of WHO For Lowering Health Risks

Walking is not as important in lowering health risks as physical activity according to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.

In particular when exercising. Guidelines have also been released by the WHO which states that adults should engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise each week. Swimming walking running cycling or any other combination of these can be used.
