Sheikh Hasina accuses Yunus Government of pushing Bangladesh into chaos
New Delhi: Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister and Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina has leveled serious allegations against the current interim government. She said that the government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus is pushing the country towards anarchy. According to Sheikh Hasina, law and order have collapsed under the current circumstances, and political instability is steadily increasing.
Sheikh Hasina categorically rejected the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) ruling as a miscarriage of justice. She stated that the decision was not a result of justice, but rather of political vendetta. According to her, she was neither given a full opportunity to defend herself nor allowed to choose her own lawyers. Hasina alleged that the tribunal is being used to target the Awami League and for political revenge.

Despite her strong criticism, Sheikh Hasina expressed faith in Bangladesh's constitutional institutions. She said that the country's constitutional traditions are strong, and justice will prevail when legitimate rule is restored and the judiciary regains its independence. She believes that the current period is temporary and that the democratic system will ultimately emerge stronger.
Sheikh Hasina described the killing of Inqilab Manch spokesperson Osman Hadi as extremely tragic. She said that this incident highlights the failure of the law and order situation that led to the downfall of her government and which has worsened under the Yunus government. According to Hasina, violence has become commonplace, but the interim government is either not acknowledging it or is completely failing to stop it.
The former Prime Minister said that the growing anarchy in Bangladesh is affecting not only the country internally but also its relations with neighboring countries. She specifically mentioned India, stating that India is viewing the atrocities against minorities and the breakdown of basic order with serious concern. According to Sheikh Hasina, when a country cannot maintain order within its own borders, its international credibility also weakens.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Sheikh Hasina stated unequivocally that elections held without the Awami League would not be a democracy, but rather a "coronation." She alleged that Yunus is ruling without a single vote from the people and now wants to ban the party that the people of Bangladesh have elected to power nine times.
Sheikh Hasina said that if the ban on the Awami League continues, millions of people will effectively be deprived of their right to vote. A government formed through such elections would lack the moral authority to govern. She emphasized that what Bangladesh needs most at this time is national reconciliation to bring the country back on the path of stability and democracy.
