Iran claims 36 schoolgirls killed in Minab
Jerusalem: Iran has claimed that at least 36 female students were killed when a girls’ school in Minab, southern Iran, was hit during joint US-Israeli airstrikes.
The report was carried by the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency, which said the strike occurred as part of a broader wave of attacks across the country on Saturday.

US President Donald Trump said “major combat operations” were underway and called on Iranians to challenge their leadership, which has been in power since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. In a video message, he urged citizens to “take over” their government once the operation concludes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu echoed similar remarks, stating that the joint offensive aims to create conditions for Iranians to determine their own future.
The strikes mark a sharp escalation in hostilities and follow weeks of rising tensions over Tehran’s nuclear programme and increased US military presence in the region. It is reportedly the second time within eight months that Washington has used direct military force against Iran.
In retaliation, Iran launched missiles and drones at Israeli targets and US military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. State media also reported that debris from an Iranian missile strike killed one person in Abu Dhabi.
As the confrontation widened, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq temporarily shut their airspace. Iran’s Foreign Ministry vowed a firm response, declaring that the country would defend itself against what it described as a military assault.
