New Delhi: Tensions between Iran and the United States are steadily escalating. Following recent protests in Iran, sharp US rhetoric has exacerbated the situation. Amidst US President Donald Trump's hints of military action and tough measures, Iran has now responded openly. Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, Iran's Supreme Leader's representative in India, has clearly stated that Iran will not be intimidated by US threats and is prepared for any eventuality.

Iran's Strong Reaction to Trump's Statement

Abdul Majid Elahi responded to Trump's statement in which he said that if anything happens to them, Iran will be "wiped off the map." Elahi stated that such threats are not new and Iran is already prepared for any consequences. He stressed that Washington's rhetoric will not affect Iran's policy and resolve.

Military Tensions and American Preparations

Trump has also raised the possibility of military action against Iran in recent days. He called for the end of Iran's long-standing regime and stressed the need for new leadership. According to US media reports, the Pentagon has redeployed a carrier strike group to the US Central Command area, which includes the Middle East. This has further escalated military tensions in the region.

Iran's Position on Nuclear Program

Amidst the tensions, Elahi clarified the country's position on Iran's nuclear program. He stated that Iran has never attempted to develop nuclear weapons. Citing a fatwa issued by Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he stated that nuclear weapons are forbidden for Iran. According to him, Iran's nuclear activities are limited to energy production, medical care, and humanitarian needs.

Accusations Against International Agencies

Elahi accused international monitoring agencies of double standards. He said that Iran is subjected to strict sanctions and rigorous scrutiny, while other nuclear-capable countries do not face such strictness. He also claimed that Iran's nuclear facilities were targeted by Israel and the US last year.

Appeal for peace, but also a warning

Despite the tensions, Iran has expressed its desire for peace. Elahi said that Iran wants stability in the region, but if the conflict escalates, it will harm the entire Middle East. He also questioned the role of international organizations, saying that many are operating under the influence of powerful countries. Iran expressed hope that global institutions will fulfill their responsibilities impartially.
