New Delhi: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim added a cultural touch to the BRICS Summit in the national capital after his video singing Kishore Kumar’s evergreen song “Khwaab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat” went viral on social media.
The Malaysian leader shared the clip of his impromptu performance, creating a lighter moment amid the high-level diplomatic discussions at the global summit.

Anwar Ibrahim performed the popular song from the 1965 film “Teen Devian” with a pianist during an informal gathering. His rendition received appreciation from people in India and across Southeast Asia.
The performance highlighted the long-standing cultural connection between India and Malaysia, where Indian cinema and music continue to enjoy a strong following.
While BRICS leaders focused on major issues including global governance reforms, trade cooperation, technology and the role of the Global South, Anwar’s musical gesture showcased the importance of cultural diplomacy.
