Middle East War Escalates as Drones, Missiles Strike Multiple Nations
New Delhi: The ongoing military conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States in the Middle East has escalated into a broader regional crisis. Frequent reports of airstrikes, drone attacks, and missile strikes have destabilized the entire Gulf region. Security alerts have been raised in several countries, and both civilians and foreign missions have been put on high alert.
Reports indicate that a drone strike occurred near the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia. The embassy was reportedly empty at the time of the attack, and no casualties were reported. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it launched a 10-drone attack on the Arifjan base in Kuwait, which hosts US troops. However, these claims have not been independently confirmed.
The Israeli military has reported targeting a Hezbollah command center and weapons depot in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Meanwhile, two explosions were reported near the headquarters of the state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran. Israel says it is targeting military and strategic installations.
Iran has threatened to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz. It has stated that ships passing through this route could be targeted. This move could pose a serious challenge to global oil supplies and international trade.
US President Donald Trump has made it clear that if necessary, the deployment of ground troops will not be ruled out. He also stated that the military operation against Iran could last approximately four weeks and that the US is committed to eliminating Tehran's missile and nuclear capabilities.
According to the UAE Defense Ministry, its air defense systems are intercepting ballistic missiles fired by Iran. Meanwhile, Iraqi media reported that a drone was intercepted near the Abu Ghraib prison complex, causing no casualties.
The United States Department of State has advised American citizens in more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries to immediately evacuate safely. Some staff at the US Embassy in Amman, the capital of Jordan, have also been temporarily relocated.
The escalating attacks and retaliatory attacks have plunged the entire region into a state of war. The prospects for a diplomatic solution appear dim, and the humanitarian crisis is increasingly at risk.
