Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed claims of drawing the US into conflict with Iran, asserting Tehran has lost key military capabilities and warning that threats to disrupt global oil routes will not succeed.

Netanyahu says Iran has ‘no capacity’ to enrich uranium
Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday dismissed allegations that Israel had pulled the United States into its ongoing conflict with Iran, describing such claims as “fake news.” Speaking at a press conference, he said no external pressure influenced Washington’s decisions.
Referring to Donald Trump, Netanyahu questioned the idea that any leader could dictate American policy, asserting that the US acts independently based on its own strategic interests.

Netanyahu stated that after nearly three weeks of conflict, Iran’s military capacity has been significantly weakened. He claimed Tehran no longer has the ability to produce ballistic missiles or enrich uranium, though these assertions have not been independently verified.
He further added that Israel’s operations have inflicted substantial damage, suggesting that Iran’s strategic capabilities have been “decimated” during the course of the conflict.
The Israeli leader emphasised that recent strikes, including those targeting Iran’s South Pars gas infrastructure, were carried out solely by Israel. He maintained that these operations were part of a broader effort to neutralise perceived threats without direct foreign military involvement.
At the same time, Netanyahu acknowledged close coordination with the United States, highlighting ongoing diplomatic and strategic alignment between the two countries.
Addressing Iran’s warnings about closing the Strait of Hormuz, Netanyahu said such a move would not succeed. He accused Tehran of attempting to pressure the international community by threatening a key global oil transit route.

He also stressed the importance of developing alternative energy corridors to reduce reliance on vulnerable chokepoints, including routes through the Arabian Peninsula.
Netanyahu expressed confidence that the conflict could conclude faster than anticipated. He also pointed to signs of internal strain within Iran’s leadership, suggesting possible instability at the top levels of governance.
