Islamabad: 17-year-old social media influencer Sana Yousuf was shot dead in her own house in G-13 area of Pakistan Capital Islamabad, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Sana Yousuf was a well-known name on social media, and millions of people followed her.
Islamabad Police IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that a 22-year-old youth has been arrested from Faisalabad for the murder of Sana. The accused has confessed to his crime. He had proposed to Sana for marriage several times before, but Sana refused every time.
The accused knew Sana and entered her house posing as a relative. He comes from a poor family, is a matriculate, and is currently unemployed. Police said that Sana Yousuf's birthday was on 29 May. On this day, the accused reached her house with the intention of meeting her and kept trying to meet her for seven to eight hours.
However, Sana refused to meet him. After this, the accused, seeing the opportunity, first talked to Sana outside the house for a while and then went inside the house and started firing on her. Sana was shot twice from very close range, due to which she died on the spot.
The police investigating the murder got important clues from CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene. On the basis of which the identity and location of the accused were traced. The accused was taken into custody from Faisalabad, from where Sana's mobile phone and the pistol used in the murder were recovered from him. IG Rizvi said that the accused had also stolen Sana's mobile phone with the intention of destroying evidence after the murder. But the police soon reached the accused with the help of technical investigation and CCTV footage.
After the incident, Sana was immediately taken to PIMS (Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital. Where doctors declared her dead. After the postmortem, Sana's funeral was done at H-8 cemetery in Islamabad. Sana's mother, Farzana Yousuf, lodged an FIR at the police station after this heartbreaking incident. She told that her daughter was not only a hardworking student but was also spreading positive messages in the society through social media.
