Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched 430 drones and 18 missiles in the attack. Kyiv was targeted by attacks in other regions of the country.

Zelensky said in a post on Telegram that the attack was a well-planned attack designed to cause as much harm to people and civilians as possible. Dozens of apartment buildings were damaged in Kyiv alone.

Power and water supply disrupted
He said that fragments from an Iskander missile damaged the Azerbaijani embassy. Power and water supply to the city was disrupted, and 15 people were hospitalized after air defenses were activated.

According to preliminary data, the Russians used Zircon missiles in the Sumy region.

Demand for tough sanctions and additional Western military support
Zelensky reiterated his demand for tough sanctions and additional Western military support. He said, "Ukraine is responding to these attacks with long-range force, and the world must stop these attacks through sanctions. Russia can still sell oil and pursue its own plans.

All this must end." He further said that considerable work is underway with partners to strengthen our air defenses, but this is not enough. We need reinforcements with additional systems and interceptor missiles.
