Washington: US President Donald Trump on Saturday urged Hamas to "move quickly" to accept his peace plan for war-torn Gaza and thanked Israel for "temporarily stopping the bombing" that killed at least 10 people in Gaza City.

In a message described as both firm and final, President Trump declared, “Hamas to move quickly, or else all bets will be off.” The statement came as Washington seeks to finalize a long-term ceasefire to end the bloody conflict between Israel and Hamas that has devastated Gaza for nearly two years.

Accept the Deal or Face Consequences

Trump emphasized that his administration had done “what no one else could”  bringing both sides to the brink of a historic deal. “If Hamas wastes this opportunity, it will face consequences it cannot imagine,” he warned. Trusmp asserted that he wouldn't tolerate "any delay", warned Hamas to cease fighting and lay down its arms.

Meanwhile, Israeli strikes in Gaza have killed at least 10 people. These strikes come despite Trump's warning to Tel Aviv to "stop the bombing." Israel said it had targeted a Hamas militant who had posed a threat to its troops in the area.

Hamas agreed to release hostages

Israel said in a statement that the military "regrets any harm caused to uninvolved civilians and works to mitigate harm to uninvolved civilians as much as possible."

What the Peace Plan Proposes?

The 20-point Gaza Peace Framework, unveiled in Washington alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, lays out an ambitious roadmap: an immediate ceasefire, release of all hostages, a phased Israeli withdrawal, complete disarmament of Hamas, and temporary international administration in Gaza.

Trump gave Hamas until Sunday 6 pm Washington time to accept the proposal in full, saying, “Israel is ready- now it’s Hamas’s turn.” Netanyahu welcomed the plan, calling it “tough but fair,” while emphasizing Israel’s right to defend itself.

Hamas’s Conditional Acceptance

Hamas’s political leadership in Doha issued a conditional acceptance, agreeing to free Israeli hostages and begin the process of political transition but seeking further clarity on troop withdrawal and border controls. The group’s response prompted Trump to order a temporary halt to Israeli air operations to facilitate negotiations and humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

Israeli defense officials confirmed that limited pauses in military activity were being implemented “in coordination with US directives.”
