US: A small medical transport plane crashed and caught fire in the Navajo Nation area in the US state of Arizona on Tuesday. Four people on board the plane died in this accident. This information was given by the officials of the Navajo tribe. The plane involved in this accident was a Beechcraft King Air 300, which belonged to CSI Aviation Company. This plane took off from Albuquerque city of New Mexico and had two pilots and two health workers on board.

The plane was to return to Albuquerque from Chinle

According to the information, the plane was planning to land at the airport near Chinle, from where it was to return to Albuquerque with a patient in critical condition. But there was some technical problem while landing and the plane crashed. Emmet Yazi, a senior officer of Navajo Police, said, 'They were trying to land at Chinle Airport, but unfortunately, something went wrong.' The accident was reported at around 12:44 pm on Tuesday, when clouds of black smoke were seen rising near the airport.

NTSB and FAA are investigating the matter

Nava Jo Emergency Department Director Shereen Sandoval said that the plane had come to pick up a patient who needed special treatment. However, no information has been received at the moment about where the patient was and what his condition is. The cause of the plane crash is not yet clear. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the matter. Officials associated with the accident say that the real reasons will be known only after the investigation is completed.

CSI Aviation expressed grief over the accident

CSI Aviation Company confirmed the accident in an email statement and expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the families and friends of the victims. The names of the deceased have not been made public yet. Nava Jo Nation President, Boo Nigren, mourned the accident through social media, saying, 'These people risked their lives to save the lives of others. His death is a great loss to the entire Nava Jo Nation.'

Hospitals in the Nava Jo area are small and lack state-of-the-art facilities or trauma care, so patients are airlifted to larger hospitals. Chinle Airport is one of the few airports the tribe operates. The Nava Jo reservation is the largest tribal area in the US, spanning about 27,000 square miles (nearly 70,000 square kilometers) and including parts of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.
