J&K: Search stepped up for survivors as cloudburst-hit Kishtwar toll jumps to over 65

The disaster fell mainly on Chositi, in Kishtwar, which is the last motorable village on the way to Machail Mata Temple on Thursday leaving 46 people dead and many more injured and missing.

Srinagar: The rescue and relief operations in cloudburst-hit Kishtwar resumed today on Friday morning to evacute the survivors feared trapped under rubble and mud, said the officials.

The local administration has joined the search to remove fallen electricity poles and broken trees to make way to facilitate the relief and rescue operation.

The Army personnel from the 16 Corps which is also have been pressed into rescue and relief operation in the affected areas.
