From Corporate Experience to Politics

Nirmala Sitharaman was born on August 18, 1959, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. She received a bachelor's degree in economics from Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchirappalli, and a postgraduate degree in economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Before entering politics, she worked in the corporate sector, which gave her a deep understanding of economic matters.

From BJP to Finance Minister

In 2017, she assumed the position of Defense Minister, and since 2019, she has served as the Finance Minister of India.
