Congress Mocks BJP Over Name Typo Amid Tata Group Political Row (Img: Dynamite News)
New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday took a swipe at BJP supporters for highlighting the misspelling of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s name in a social media post by Rahul Gandhi, claiming the typo was a deliberate strategy to attract attention.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said BJP supporters had helped amplify Rahul’s criticism of the government over the ongoing Tata Group controversy by focusing on the spelling error rather than the substance of his allegations.
In a post on X, Shrinate thanked BJP supporters for drawing attention to Rahul’s remarks accusing the government of “criminally destroying” the Tata Group.
"BJP buffoons fall prey so easily. In communication, deliberate misspelling is a strategy to gain attention. It’s called Typo Marketing," she said.
"Thank you for amplifying Rahul ji’s tweet on Tata by desperately pointing out Sitaraman misspelt. Hahhahaha!" she added.

The exchange followed a public confrontation between Rahul and Sitharaman on Wednesday over the leadership dispute at the Tata Group. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha had accused the government of undermining the conglomerate and questioned why business leaders were not speaking out.
"Tata is being criminally destroyed, and no business leader dares say a word. How long will you stay silent? Until they own you?" Rahul wrote on X.
He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of treating Indian businesses as their "plaything" and challenged business leaders to speak up.
Sitharaman responded by accusing Rahul of politicising commercial and legal matters and attempting to encourage business leaders to spread "distrust and toxicity".
She argued that describing business disputes as criminal without substantiation was unacceptable and defended the government's economic policies, saying Indian industry was an important source of employment and economic growth.
Dear Mrs. Sitarama,
1.Which "legal and commercial matter" required Tata Trusts and Tata Sons to be hosted at Amit Shah's residence?
2.When is crony number 1 going to appear in the game and which pieces of Tata is he going to get?
Finally, all India's businesses except 3-4 of your cronies, already hate all of you and don't need any incitement.

The finance minister contrasted the BJP-led government's approach with the Congress's economic record, accusing the latter of suppressing entrepreneurship through the "Licence-Quota Raj".
She said the government's policies were intended to encourage enterprise, support industry and attract investment, urging Rahul to avoid making allegations for narrow political purposes.

Rahul responded with another post questioning an alleged meeting involving Tata Trusts, Tata Sons and Amit Shah.
"Dear Mrs. Sitarama (sic), 1. Which 'legal and commercial matter' required Tata Trusts and Tata Sons to be hosted at Amit Shah's residence? 2. When is crony number 1 going to appear in the game and which pieces of Tata is he going to get?" he wrote.
"Finally, all India's businesses except 3-4 of your cronies already hate all of you and don't need any incitement," he added.
The political exchange comes amid a dispute over Tata Sons' leadership. Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata has challenged the September 17 board resolution to reappoint N Chandrasekaran as executive chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group.
Noel Tata has questioned the validity of the resolution, bringing the conglomerate's internal governance into focus as the political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP continues.
