New Delhi: Obesity has become a growing concern, with unhealthy eating habits, late-night screen time, stress, and sedentary lifestyles leading to rapid weight gain across age groups. As the New Year approaches, many people resolve to get fitter—but often give up due to extreme diets or unrealistic workout plans.

If you want to look and feel your best by New Year 2026, Vivek Thiruvengadam, a Chennai-based certified health coach and founder of CubitFit, has shared four simple and sustainable tips that can help you lose weight without drastic changes.

1. Reduce Fat Intake, Not Carbs

Most people trying to lose weight cut carbohydrates first, but Vivek suggests focusing on reducing fat intake instead.
Fats are calorie-dense, so cutting down on excess oil and fried foods can significantly reduce daily calorie consumption—without eliminating carbs entirely.

2. Cut Down on Liquid Calories

Calories from beverages often go unnoticed. Sugary drinks, milk-based coffee, and sweetened tea can add up quickly.

Vivek recommends making small swaps—like replacing milk coffee with black coffee—to save hundreds of calories over time.

3. Walk for 10 Minutes After Every Meal

A short 10-minute walk after meals can work wonders.
Post-meal walking helps digestion, improves blood sugar control, and increases daily step count—boosting overall calorie burn.

Start small and stay consistent; visible results will follow.

4. Eat the Same Breakfast Every Day

To avoid overeating, Vivek suggests keeping breakfast simple and consistent.
A meal rich in protein and fiber keeps you full for longer, reduces cravings, and prevents unnecessary snacking throughout the day.

Small Habits, Big Results

According to Vivek, weight loss doesn’t require crash diets or intense workouts. Just a few smart habit changes, followed consistently, can make a big difference.

“This is the same framework I follow to stay fit,” he says.

If you want to feel lighter, healthier, and more energetic before the New Year, now is the perfect time to start.
