Mumbai: A threat to blow up Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus here in Mumbai with a bomb has sent shivers to all security agencies, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The bomb threat call was made directly to the DGP office of Maharashtra Police by an unknown person. After the threat call, the entire security system was alerted. The person threatened and said that a bomb would be placed at the station, which could endanger the lives of passengers.

Security Agencies On Alert

After the threat call Mumbai Police, Railway Police and Bomb Disposal Squad surrounded the station premises and conducted an intensive search operation. However no suspicious object was found in the search operation of about two hours. After that a little relief was there for agencies. However security system has been tightened.

In the meantime the police has also intensified the monitoring of CCTV footage in the station and surrounding areas.

A case has been registered at the Colaba Police Station under relevant sections of the IPC. The help of the Cyber Cell is also being taken to trace the identity and location of the caller.

Earlier Threat To Blow Up Mumbai Airport

Only yesterday on Friday a call was recieved threatening to blow up with a bomb Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

However after a thorough check of the facility did not reveal anything suspicious, an official said. The call was classified as a hoax, he said.

A police officer said, "Another call was also received claiming the blast would take place at 6:15pm. A probe has found both calls were made by the same person. The process of registering a case is underway."

At the same time the railway police control room too received a call threatening a blast at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. But after a round of intensive checking by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and canine squad this too was found to be a hoax.

A railway police official said, 'we recieved an unknown call threatening to blow up Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. But after a round of intensive checking by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and canine squad this too was found to be a hoax.'
