Before the press conference, Akhilesh Yadav honored several former military officers by presenting them with shawls. He said that it is the duty of every government and political party to honor the soldiers and officers who contribute to the security of the country.
This felicitation ceremony reflects the SP's ideology, which places national service and sacrifice above all else.
In recent days, a photograph of Akhilesh Yadav with an accused in the codeine cough syrup case had sparked intense political discussions.
Responding to this, he said that if having a picture with an accused is a crime, then similar pictures exist with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and several other leaders. He termed it a politically motivated attempt to defame him.

Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP, saying that the party is dominated by power and dominance, not competence. He remarked sarcastically that in the BJP, the criterion for determining positions is not competence, but proximity to power.
In this press conference, while Akhilesh Yadav sent a positive message by honoring ex-servicemen, he also raised questions about the government's role in serious issues like the availability of codeine cough syrup.
He stressed that the Samajwadi Party will continue to demand strict action against crime and corruption, regardless of who the accused are.
