Patna: With the commencement of special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, the Election Commission got preliminary information about the wrongly registering name in the voter list of a large number of foreign nationals in the state, now the picture seems to be clear about it.
The Election Commission has found citizenship of three lakh people included in the draft list. Those who have now been given notice to prove their citizenship. According to senior commission officials, most of these are expected to be from Nepal and Bangladesh. It has also been told that these three lakh people were identified from eight districts of Bihar, while they are under investigation in more districts.

It is believed that their number may increase further. Currently, the districts from which these three lakh people have been identified are East Champaran, West Champaran, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Araria and Supaul. According to the Election Commission, the three lakh people who have been given notice will have to provide documents to certify their citizenship before 25 September, as a final decision will be taken on such cases by 25 September.
Election Commission has dropped 65 lakh people from Madata list
According to the Commission’s schedule, the final voter list will be published by 30 September. According to this program, claim objections are being taken regarding the draft list. Significantly, during the revision, the Commission has already dropped about 65 lakh people from the voter list. These included voters who have been shifted dead and registered names from two places.
Till now, CPIML was shown some activity in political parties and it is said that till a day earlier 79 complaints were filed on its behalf and requested to add the name.
