Teacher killed by maoists in Bijapur
Bijapur: A Shikshadoot (education worker) kidnapped and brutally murdered by Maoists in Todka village of Gangaluur police station area of Bijapur.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Kallu Tati.
According to the information, Kallu Tati was posted at Nedra School in the Gangaluur area. After he completed his school time and was returning home on Friday evening, the Maoists kidnapped Kallu Tati and killed him late at night.
There is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area due to this incident. On receiving the information of the incident, the police has started investigating the matter. Police force has been sent to the spot.
Who is Shikshadoot (education worker)?
Let us tell you that schools have been closed for a long time in the remote and Naxal-affected areas of Bastar division. In such a situation, the government tried to restart the schools by appointing local youth as Shiksha Doots. Because of them, the flame of education has been rekindled in many villages and children have started returning to school.
Murder of 9 Shiksha Doots
After the reopening of closed schools, Naxalites have killed a total of 5 Shiksha Doots in the district. So far, 9 Shiksha Doots have been killed in Bijapur and Sukma districts.
Maoists suspect that these Shiksha Doots are informers, due to which they kill Shiksha Doots to spread terror in the area.
