Delhi Govt makes 50% work from home mandatory amid rising pollution

Due to rising pollution levels in Delhi, the government has taken strict measures. From tomorrow, 50% work from home will be mandatory for all government and private offices. Registered construction workers affected by the work stoppage in Grade 3 areas will receive a compensation of ₹10,000.

New Delhi: The Delhi government has taken a major decision in view of the increasing pollution problem. It has been made mandatory for 50% of employees in all government and private institutions in the capital to work from home starting tomorrow. This step has been taken primarily to protect the safety and health of the people. Establishments that do not comply with the rules will be fined.

Compensation Scheme for Workers

The government has also announced relief for construction workers affected by the work stoppage under Grade 3 restrictions. These registered workers will receive a compensation of Rs. 10,000 directly into their bank accounts. This will provide financial relief to the workers and alleviate their hardships.

Exempted Services

While the work-from-home rule will apply to all offices, essential services such as healthcare, fire services, prisons, and public transport will be exempt. The government has also ensured that the rules will be strictly enforced.

Kapil Mishra Attacks Previous Governments

Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra stated that Delhi has inherited the current pollution problem. He questioned the performance of the Chief Ministers over the past 13 years, saying that pollution was neglected. Mishra said that the current government is taking the matter seriously and effective steps are being taken to ensure public safety.

Minister Kapil Mishra further stated that stricter measures will be taken in the future to control pollution and protect the public.
