Delhi-NCR gets breathing space from hoax calls after Mysore man’s arrest

A Mysuru man allegedly sent over 1,100 hoax bomb threat messages to schools, high courts, government offices, and other institutions across the country.

Delhi: The arrest of a man from Mysuru brings relief amid growing concerns over repeated hoax threats that disrupt public safety and essential services. Louis has been produced before a local court for transit and is being taken to Delhi for further investigation.

The operation was conducted jointly by Delhi Police and local Karnataka police teams.

The 47-year-old man from Mysuru who been identified as Srinivas Louis (also referred to as Srinivas alias Louis or Shrinivas Luis), a postgraduate and native of Bengaluru, was apprehended from his rented accommodation in Mysuru.

1,100 hoax bomb threat

He was allegedly sending more than 1,100 hoax bomb threat messages to schools, high courts, government offices, and other institutions across the country.

Louis, who is unemployed and lives with his mother, a retired government employee, was caught through a technical investigation after making threats against the Delhi High Court, Delhi Assembly, and several schools and government offices.

Multiple FIRs

Multiple FIRs were registered in different states due to the panic caused by these emails and other digital communications.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to sending the threats. Police sources indicated that he may have been under significant mental stress. A laptop and multiple SIM cards were reportedly seized from his residence.

The arrest brings relief amid growing concerns over repeated hoax threats that disrupt public safety and essential services. Louis has been produced before a local court for transit and will be taken to Delhi for further investigation.
