New Delhi: If you are a foodie, then your Insta feed will definitely be filled with food content. If you are a fashion lover, then you will find lifestyle and beauty content. But if you like "viral" criminal content, then be careful—because Delhi Police may now be keeping an eye on you too!

Nowadays, if you are liking, sharing or commenting on a post of a gangster or criminal on social media, then be careful—Delhi Police is watching! Delhi Police now monitors social media for gangster-related activity—liking/sharing such content could land you in trouble.

Yes, now Delhi Police has increased its surveillance, and it is not only keeping an eye on the streets, but also on online platforms. Its mission? Catching the digital footprints of criminals, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Delhi Police officers surf Instagram for 2 hours every day—not for fun, but for crime hunting. A dedicated social media cell has been set up at the police headquarters, where officers track posts and interactions in a cunning manner.

If someone is seen supporting a gangster or a bad character (by liking/following), action can be taken against him too. So pay heed to what content you consume on Social Media Platforms as the agencies might monitor your activities.

What things should one be cautious of?

  • "302" written in the username? (IPC 302 = murder)
  • Hashtags like #TilluGang #LawrenceBishnoi #GogiBhai? (These are signals of gangs)
  • Any suspicious code in the bio/description? (In the eyes of the police)
  • Chat with fake profiles? (Many times, the police itself run such accounts)

The meaning is clear: if you are becoming a "fan" of a gangster or are blowing their trumpet, then understand that you are also on the police radar!

Action on fake news and hate speech

The Delhi Police is now taking immediate action on fake news and hate content. If you have been a victim of cyber fraud, abuse, or illegal activity, you can contact the police directly through Twitter/Instagram.

Last warning

The next time you like/share a suspicious post, ask yourself:
"Is this correct? Is this safe?"
