New Delhi: Just before the 77th Republic Day, the Delhi Police and security agencies are on high alert. Based on intelligence inputs, a high alert has been issued in the capital. The Delhi Police has pasted posters of wanted terrorists at major railway stations, metro stations, bus stands, and crowded markets in the city.
These posters include members of banned terrorist organizations such as Babbar Khalsa International, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Al-Qaeda, and Khalistan Zindabad Force. The most prominent name is that of Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla, the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), who operates an international terrorist network from Canada. Posters have also been put up in Delhi's famous markets, such as Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Paharganj, Sadar Bazaar, and Chandni Chowk. The police have appealed to citizens that if anyone recognizes these terrorists or has information about their activities, they should immediately report them to 112.
According to intelligence sources, Khalistani organizations, as well as Bangladesh-based terrorists and local gangsters, are operating under a hybrid model. Handlers based abroad no longer come directly to India, but are using gangsters from Punjab and surrounding states as foot soldiers. Weapons supply, reconnaissance, and attacks are being plotted in this manner.
