New Delhi: The sound of the air raid siren that is being heard in Delhi these days is not a scary thing. Actually, this is just a test. Meaning, this is being done to check that if there is an air attack or a missile attack on Delhi, then how can people be alert and protect themselves properly?

This siren makes sound in a range of up to 8 kilometers. This means that if there is an air attack, then the sound of this siren will be heard by people up to 8 kilometers away. And even if it is not heard up to 8 kilometers, it can still alert people up to 5-6 kilometers, reports a Dynamite News correspondent.

The siren has been installed on top of the PWD (Public Works Department) building, which is in a large area of Delhi. The siren system is on top of this building itself. Its purpose is that as soon as there is an airstrike in Lutyens Zone (the most important area of Delhi), then people should be alerted by hearing the sound of the siren and can go to a safe place for their safety.

For example, people can go into a bunker, hide in a basement, or take cover behind a strong building.

The sound of the siren will be heard in many areas of Delhi. For example, Laxmi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Chandni Chowk, and Daryaganj.

This testing is being done so that people are prepared in advance. Earlier also, when there was a threat of war between India and Pakistan, such practice was done. However, we have the S-400 missile defense system, which can destroy any missile in the air itself.

So, there is nothing to be afraid of in this testing. Just understand that if ever such a situation arises, the sound of the siren will ring three times:

First siren: When we come to know that an attack is going to happen. At this time people will get time to go to safe places.

Second siren: When the attack will have happened and bombs or missiles will be falling.

Third siren: When the danger will be over and everything will be safe.

So, that's it! The sirens sounding in Delhi are just a part of practice so that if such a situation arises in real life, we can all be prepared in advance.

There is nothing to fear; just be alert!
