In Rajasthan, the state government has preponed the school holidays. Initially scheduled from October 16 to October 27, the festive break will now begin from October 13, 2025, according to the revised order issued by Director of Secondary Education, Sitaram Jat.

While the holidays will start earlier than planned, officials confirmed that the total duration of the break remains unchanged — students will enjoy 12 days off, including the Sunday, October 12. The decision was taken to better align with local festive activities and travel plans.

Bihar Schools Closed for Diwali and Chhath Puja

In Bihar, the education department has declared an extended festive break to cover both Diwali and Chhath Puja. As per the official calendar, schools across the state will remain closed from October 20 to October 29, 2025.

This ten-day break allows families to celebrate the twin festivals that hold immense cultural and religious significance in the state. Diwali will be celebrated on October 20, followed by Chhath Puja rituals later in the month.

In Uttar Pradesh, students will get a shorter but continuous Diwali vacation. The government has declared October 20 (Diwali), October 22 (Govardhan Puja), and October 23 (Bhai Dooj) as official holidays.

Since October 19 falls on a Sunday, students will enjoy a four-day festive break from October 19 to 23. The schedule has been issued as part of the state’s annual school holiday list.
