Coimbatore: A significant reduction in the number of government buses was observed in most areas of Coimbatore today. This is due to the DMK led protest by ruling DMK Government of MK Stalin against Central Government. The protests are being held against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and Voter Special Summary System (VSP) amendments made by the Central Election Commission.

Use of Government Buses in Protests

Locals complain that DMK workers are bringing people from various parts of the city and Tirupur to the protest site in the Shivananda Colony area using government buses. According to eyewitnesses, approximately 10 buses from each area, totaling approximately 100 buses, have been deployed for the protest.

This has affected commuters in Coimbatore and Tirupur. School students and the general public are facing difficulties in their daily commute due to the shortage of government buses.

Public Outrage

Local residents accused the DMK of misusing government resources to create a crowd and harass the public. They said, "We strongly condemn this misuse of power by the DMK. We hope the party immediately stops this misuse."
