According to a Parliamentary Standing Committee report tabled in Parliament, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has saved approximately ₹2,64,156 crore over the past five years thanks to its indigenous research and development efforts.

March 2024: Successful test of MIRV technology.
DRDO successfully tested Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology using the Agni ballistic missile. This technology enables a single missile to strike multiple separate targets simultaneously.
The Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) was completely developed in India and successfully tested.
