New Delhi: Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede has recently filed a defamation case in the Delhi High Court against Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Netflix, and others.
In relation to this case, the Delhi High Court has issued summons to all the parties, and the next hearing of the case has been fixed on 30 October 2025.
Sameer Wankhede said, "I am fighting for the honor of the uniform of the officers of this country, for the honor of my family, and for the 'Satyamev Jayate,' which is in our national emblem. We cannot be defamed like this."
Wankhede believes that whatever has been shown is not only against him but against all government officials who are performing their duties honestly.
Wankhede alleges that he has been portrayed wrongly, maliciously, and with false allegations in "The Ba*ds of Bollywood", a show released on Netflix. The show is said to be based on the drug case of actor Aryan Khan and the incidents related to it.

He says that the purpose of this series is to humiliate him, tarnish his image, and tarnish his reputation before the public, especially when the case between him and Aryan Khan is still pending in the Bombay High Court and NDPS Court.
Justice Purushendra Kumar Kaurav has ordered all the defendants to file their replies in 7 days. After this, Wankhede will have to file a counter affidavit within 3 days. The court has not yet given any immediate relief, and the next hearing will be on October 30.
Wankhede has sought a permanent and mandatory injunction, declaration, and damages from the court. He said that this series has weakened the public's trust in law enforcement agencies.
This step of Sameer Wankhede is not just a case of personal defamation; rather, he is calling it a fight for the reputation of the country's institutions and honest officials.
