New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed two senior IAS officers in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), according to Dynamite News correspondent.
Ashish Vachhani and MS Srikar appointed as Additional Secretaries
Ashish Vachhani (TN:97) and MS Srikar (KN:99) have been designated as Additional Secretaries. The change comes at a time when the central government is continuously working to improve administrative efficiency and policymaking in various departments.
Ashish Vachhani, who was earlier working in the Department of Economic Affairs, will now assume his new role in the PMO. His experience and thorough knowledge of economic issues make him a valuable addition to the Prime Minister's Office.
Vachhani began his Indian Administrative Service career in the Tamil Nadu cadre and has been an active contributor to economic policymaking for the country and has also occupied key positions during his time in office.
He is popularly known as someone who can make policy decisions and for being analytical. While Vachhani will start working in the PMO as Additional Secretary, earlier he worked in the Cabinet Secretariat.
MS Srikar began his service in the IAS from the Karnataka cadre and has discharged many key duties in the administrative department during his career. He is highly experienced in the work of administration and well conversant with policymaking, which will allow him to successfully fill this new role in the Prime Minister's Office.
New recruits in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO)
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has a significant role in determining the course of significant decisions, schemes, and government policies. In this case, the recruitment of these officers will further enhance administrative efficiency throughout the term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vachani and Srikar possess a comprehensive understanding of policymaking, administration reforms, and economic management, and hence it would be anticipated that significant decisions at the Prime Minister's Office are going to be implemented with expediency.
These appointments have been welcomed in political and administrative circles. Considering the capability and efficiency of these two officers, it can be said that there will be better decisions in the Prime Minister's Office in the future.
