Indian Railway to run train services between Koderma-Tilaiya from December

Trains passing through four tunnels and seven bridges on this route will give a pleasant feeling to the passengers.

Jhumritilaiya (Koderma): The Koderma-Tilaiya railway line connecting the border areas of Jharkhand and Bihar will prove to be a milestone in the coming days. Trains passing through four tunnels and seven bridges on this route will give a pleasant feeling to the passengers.

General Manager of East Central Railway Hajipur Chhatrasal Singh reviewed the current status of Koderma-Tilaiya Rajgir rail line by holding a high-level meeting. In the meeting, he gave instructions to monitor the completion of the work within the time limit.

Chief Administrative Officer Construction North Ramjanam, Chief Administrative Officer South Ramashray Pandey and officials of construction company RITES were present in the meeting. The 65 km long Koderma-Tilaiya railway line being built at a cost of about Rs 1625 crore is likely to be completed by December 2025.

Construction work in the final stage

The construction work of tunnels, bridges and stations is in the final stage. Railway officials said that so far 50 km of rail line work has been completed.

In this, four tunnels of 350 meters, 305 meters, 255 meters and 250 meters are being built. If the railway line starts by December, it will be better for tourists. Famous tourist places like Rajgir, Nalanda, Pawapuri and Kakolat will be directly connected to this rail line.

With the start of this rail line, people of areas like Rajgir, Tilaiya, Nawada, Barhi, Koderma will get better railway facilities. The path of treatment, education, employment and business will open for the common people.

According to railway officials, both passenger and goods trains will run on this rail line as soon as the construction is completed. With the construction of this rail line, the journey from Rajgir to Ranchi will be reduced by three to four hours.

Railways have planned to build a wildlife corridor in this rail line, so that elephants and other wildlife can get a safe path. The station premises of the railway line will showcase the folk arts and woodcrafts of Nawada and Koderma.

Rs 446.74 crore has been allocated for the construction of this railway line in the budget. This project was approved in 2004 during the tenure of the then Railway Minister Nitish Kumar.
