Sriharikota: India’s first private space launch, Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1 rocket under Mission Aagaman, lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota at 12:05 am on 18th July 2026, Saturday. The launch of Vikram-1 marks a major milestone for India’s private space industry.

This is the very first orbital launch by an Indian private company with the help of a launch vehicle designed and developed independently of the government’s space programme.

The Vikram-1 features several technological breakthroughs consisting of an all-carbon composite rocket, a completely 3D-printed engine, and a mix of scientific and artistic payloads. Mission Aagaman portrays a major milestone in India’s rapidly expanding commercial space industry.
