Thiruvananthapuram: With the electioneering coming to an end in Kerala in three days, the visit of national leaders has intensified to give a final push. PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi are visiting today, while local MP and Priyanka Gandhi is camping for several days. More than a dozen Union Ministers had already criss-crossed the state.

The election scene in Kerala is getting bad to worse with allegations and counter-allegations among the ruling LDF, opposition UDF, and BJP-led NDA. A few days back, all three alliances released manifestos with all kinds of promises, including unemployment doles, free bus rides for women, and higher MSP for rubber.

PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi’s Campaign Schedule

Prime Minister Modi would be holding a mega roadshow this evening in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by a public meeting. Rahul Gandhi would be addressing four public meetings today at Alappuzha, Idukki, Kochi, and Ernakulam.

Blame Game Intensifies Among Parties

These three alliances are engaged in campaigning while blaming each other. The Prime Minister questions why Left and Congress are united outside Kerala, but not in Kerala. Congress is going all out to defend its partnership outside Kerala, saying that Congress is the real Left.

Congress, BJP and Left Trade Strong Charges

But Congress campaign is more interesting. It says that BJP is not supporting the LDF in Kerala but also shielding the Left from ED, CBI, and other agencies. So both BJP and Left have a tacit understanding to keep Congress away.

On the other hand, the Left Front is facing strong anti-incumbency against CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s rule. The Left is blaming the Congress that its battle against the BJP was half-hearted and not serious. Congress reply to that is that BJP had filed 36 cases against Rahul Gandhi.
