Khan Sir surrendered before the Patna Civil Court
Patna: Popular educator Khan Sir surrendered before the Patna Civil Court on Saturday (June 6, 2026) in connection with a firing and violence case linked to his coaching institute in Patna. His lawyer confirmed that he entered the court premises as legal proceedings began. Police had been preparing for possible arrest, but Khan Sir chose to appear in court instead.
The case relates to a late-night incident on Tuesday at the Musallahpur-based Khan Global Studies coaching centre, where reports of firing and vandalism surfaced. An FIR was registered at Kadamkuan police station under sections related to attempt to murder and the Arms Act.
According to investigators, statements recorded from security personnel alleged that they acted on instructions during the incident. This led police to name Khan Sir in the case while continuing the investigation into the chain of events.
In the days leading up to the surrender, security outside the coaching centre was significantly increased. Large police deployments were seen, and authorities maintained strict surveillance amid expectations of possible arrest.
Despite the tense atmosphere, Khan Sir was not taken into custody before his court appearance. Police sources indicated that legal procedures were being followed as part of the ongoing investigation.
The coaching institute witnessed high drama throughout the night as hundreds of students gathered outside in support of their teacher. Police vehicles were stationed in the area, and announcements were made urging students to disperse and return home.
However, many students remained at the site, creating a charged atmosphere while authorities tried to maintain order and prevent escalation.
Police have already arrested five individuals in connection with the case, including two security guards of Khan Sir and individuals linked to another coaching institute identified as part of a rival group. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more details will emerge as evidence is examined.
