The proposed measures include identifying areas where fuel consumption can be lowered, encouraging greater use of electric vehicles for official work and promoting virtual meetings to reduce travel-related expenses.
Departments have also been asked to examine the necessity of foreign travel and postpone or cancel non-essential international visits. The state government is expected to discuss the proposed measures in the cabinet meeting scheduled for May 14.
Even before official guidelines are issued, several ministers and departments have already started implementing cost-saving measures.
