New Delhi: In a major decision during Wednesday's Cabinet meeting, the Modi government has approved the inclusion of a caste census in the upcoming national population survey, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Alongside this, the government has also taken several significant decisions in favor of farmers and approved the construction of new highways.

Shortly after the Cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced during the press briefing that the government will conduct a caste-based survey. He also criticized the Congress, accusing the party of manipulating past surveys for political gains

Many big decisions in the interest of farmers

Many big decisions were taken in the interest of farmers in the important meeting of the Central Cabinet held on Wednesday in the capital of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told the media that the government has decided to increase the price of wheat (FRP) for the sugar season 2025-26.

Along with this, a new national highway project has also been approved to strengthen road connectivity in India.

FRP increased for farmers

The government has fixed the FRP of farming on the basis of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) at Rs 355 per reserve for 10.25% level. This FRUCC will have a minimum price discount from the farmers on behalf of the sugar mills, that is, no mill will buy from the mills at less than this.

Going above 10.25%, there will be an increase of Rs 3.46 per mega ingot in Franchise by 0.1% per week. At the same time, in case of a fall of 10.25% in france, every 0.1% fall to 9.5%, will be Rs 3.46 per ounce in france. If the price is 9.5% or less, then farmers will be paid a minimum of Rs 329.05 per ounce.

Efforts to increase farmers' income

The government said that the average production cost of the proposed African countries (Rs 173 per ounce) is 105.2%. In the year 2023-24, farmers paid a total of Rs 1,11,701 crore, and during this period the total crushing of cultivation was 3,190 lakh tonnes and sugar production was 320 lakh tonnes.

Highways Boost

The biggest decision for India was taken in the cabinet meeting. A new national highway corridor connecting Shillong (Meghalaya) to Silchar (Assam) has been approved. This highway will be a part of NH-6 and will play a major role in connecting Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Barak Valley region of Assam.

It is scientific that the Shillong-Silchar route is already considered the shortest and connected route. In such a situation, this new project will prove to be a boost to the economic and social development of the patient states.

Government's emphasis - farmers and regional development

Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that these judges give importance to PM Modi's "farmer's interest is paramount" approach and the policy of regional regional development. Along with direct economic benefits to farmers, the government is also paying full attention to rural enterprises and warehouses.
