As monsoon begins to retreat, India faces contrasting weather patterns—cloudbursts and heavy rain lash Uttarakhand and Himachal, while Delhi, UP, and Bihar grapple with heat, humidity, and scattered showers.
Mixed weather across India due to monsoon
New Delhi: Weather conditions are currently varying in different parts of the country. While Delhi-NCR and some plains are experiencing humidity and heat, hilly states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are experiencing heavy rains and cloudbursts. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also indicated the return of the monsoon.
Today, September 19th, the weather in the capital, Delhi, will be partly cloudy. Light rain is expected in some areas. In the morning, the predominant winds will blow from the southeast, with speeds of 8 to 12 kilometers per hour.
Weather Update: Heavy monsoon rains continue across India; Alerts issued in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
However, on September 21st, the weather is expected to be completely clear, which may lead to a slight increase in temperatures.
Many parts of Uttar Pradesh have experienced good rainfall over the past two days, providing relief from the heat. However, this rainfall will gradually decrease in the coming days, and the heat is likely to increase again.
Light rain is possible in some areas of Western Uttar Pradesh. Rain is also expected at some places in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. However, no heavy rain alert has been issued anywhere in the state.
The weather is expected to remain normal from September 19th to 23rd.
Many districts of Bihar have been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past three days. Even today, September 19th, the Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert.
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in many parts of Bihar on September 19th and 20th, which could lead to waterlogging and flooding.
Weather conditions in Uttarakhand remain very poor. The IMD has issued an orange alert for districts like Dehradun, Tehri, Haridwar, Nainital, and Bageshwar. These districts are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with lightning.
Torrential rains continue to wreak havoc across the country
Schools have been closed in Dehradun due to the heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, reports of a cloudburst have also emerged in Chamoli district, disrupting normal life.
According to the Meteorological Department, the process of the retreat of the monsoon may begin soon. Usually, by mid-October, the monsoon departs from the country, and northeast winds begin to replace southwesterly winds.
At present, some states are still experiencing heavy rainfall, which clearly indicates that the monsoon is gradually withdrawing.
While some states, such as Uttarakhand and Bihar, are grappling with heavy rains and disaster-like conditions, states like Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience a gradual increase in heat.
The monsoon is now slowly withdrawing, but before leaving, it is leaving its last mark on some states.
