Pahalgam: According to the information received from intelligence sources, the terrorists had planned the attack like the 26/11 Mumbai attack, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Their primary target was tourists, as they wanted to affect tourism in Jammu and Kashmir by targeting tourists.
The initial assessment by central agencies reveals that the attack occurred in a location with many tourists present, and security agencies were unaware of it.
If you look at the pattern of the 26/11 attack, there was a bigger motive behind that too—to attack the economic capital of the state and send a message to the world.
In recent times, Pahalgam has also emerged as an economic hub of Jammu and Kashmir. The tourists had come from different countries and different states of India.
The 26/11 terrorists had intruded India through oceans and were well prepared and brainwashed. Lashkar-e-Taiba and ISI hatched the Mumbai attacks.
Initial probes reveal that the ISI and The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit of Pakistani terrorist Hafiz Saeed's Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), had hatched the conspiracy to carry out the Pahalgam attacks from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The terrorists fled to their hideouts after the attack, similar to the 26/11 attackers, allowing them to plan another strike when they feel safe.
In recent times, we saw that the prime accused of the 26/11 terror attack, Tauba Rana, was handed over to India, and now the information being gathered by intelligence agencies in Kashmir, digital and physical evidence, all point to this.
Everywhere is on high alert, the government has started thinking about the action plan, and an important meeting of the CCS is to be held.
Authorities have released the pictures of the four terrorists who carried out this brutal massacre. Pakistan hatched this conspiracy, and its strings connect to Pakistan. Many people sustained injuries in the firing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi left his Saudi Arabia tour midway and held a meeting with the Foreign Secretary and Foreign Minister at the airport.
Home Minister Amit Shah visited Pahalgam, where he met the families of the victims and inspected the attack site. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also received complete information.
But one question remains inconclusive: What action will India take now?
There is no deniability that terrorism stems from Pakistan. And there are clues of connections to Muzaffarabad and Karachi, and the involvement of ISI is also being reported.
The terrorists used advanced communication systems—no mobiles, but external logistical support. Local terrorists provided information after recce, and the terrorists had received special training.
The main target of this attack was tourists—to harm tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. This attack was carried out at the behest of ISI, and all the terrorists are being said to be Pakistanis.
NIA team has reached the spot. The forensic team has collected bullets, including some steel bullets—a dangerous type of bullet, which is often used by Pakistani terrorists. Pakistan imports these bullets from China and supplies them to the terrorists.
The conspiracy of this attack was extremely dangerous—its motive was clear: to spoil the stability in Jammu and Kashmir by targeting tourists. They tried to fulfill their motive by attacking Pahalgam, which is called "Mini Switzerland".
This attack was carried out on the lines of 26/11. The terrorists were fully prepared—they had rucksacks, which contained dry fruits, medical supplies, and other things necessary for hiding.
Communication equipment was also used. According to intelligence sources, 5-6 foreign terrorists are still hiding in the forests, who had done recce with the help of local terrorists.
