New Delhi: India has given a strong and clear response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's desire to hold talks with India, including on the issue of terrorism, reports Dynamite News corresapondent.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on May 29, 2025, that India's stand on Pakistan is completely clear. He said, "Any relationship is built on a bilateral basis, and we want to reiterate that terrorism and talks are not possible together."

India's conditions are clear: Pakistan should hand over the terrorists.

Jaiswal further said that Pakistan will have to hand over all the dangerous terrorists to India, whose list and evidence India has already handed over. He also made it clear that any talks on Jammu and Kashmir will take place only when Pakistan completely vacates its occupied Kashmir (PoK) and hands it over to India.

India's tough stand on the Indus Waters Treaty

India also said clearly on the Indus Water Treaty that until Pakistan completely, clearly, and permanently abandons its support for cross-border terrorism, this treaty will remain suspended. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, "Terror and dialogue cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go together, and water and blood cannot flow together."

No discussion on trade

The spokesperson also clarified that no issue related to trade or tariff was raised in any of the talks held with Pakistan. Apart from this, he also said that the decision to stop firing on the border between the two countries was taken through mutual dialogue between the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan and not under any trade or political talks.
