New Delhi: Security arrangements have been intensified across the national capital ahead of a proposed protest by the satirical online group "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP) at Jantar Mantar on Saturday.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who arrived in Delhi today, said he was eager to meet supporters at the protest venue. "Looking forward to meeting everyone at Jantar Mantar. We have to lead this movement with love and peace," he posted on X.

Earlier this week, Dipke announced that he would return to India from Boston on June 6 to launch a peaceful protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination-related lapses.

Education reformer and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has also expressed support for the campaign, stating that he would join the protest if the Education Minister did not step down by June 5.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police said it had not received any request for permission from the Cockroach Janta Party for the proposed demonstration. Despite this, authorities have deployed more than 1,000 police personnel across New Delhi as a precautionary measure, a senior official said on Friday.

Officials said security has been strengthened in and around key locations, including Jantar Mantar, to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
