Patna: Patna police have registered a case against popular educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, in connection with a firing incident at his coaching institute in the Kadamkuan area. The FIR includes serious charges under attempt to murder provisions and the Arms Act. Authorities are examining his role following statements made during the investigation.

Guards Arrested After Alleged Firing

The case stems from a clash on June 2 at the coaching centre, during which gunshots were fired. Police say CCTV footage and videos from the scene showed Khan Sir’s security personnel discharging weapons. Both bodyguards involved have been arrested and sent to judicial custody as the inquiry continues.

Investigators claim that statements from the guards suggested they acted on instructions, reportedly quoting directions allegedly linked to Khan Sir. Based on these inputs, he has also been booked under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). However, officials have not issued any final conclusion on his direct involvement.

Police Confirm Ongoing Probe

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikey K Sharma said that the investigation is still in progress. He noted that further legal steps will depend on evidence collected during the inquiry. Police teams are also reviewing CCTV footage and witness accounts to establish the sequence of events.

Students Gather in Support

Following news of the FIR, a large number of students assembled outside Khan Global Studies, expressing support for the educator. The crowd raised slogans backing him, prompting authorities to deploy additional police forces in the area to maintain order. Students were later asked to vacate the premises as a precautionary measure.

Khan Sir Defends Actions

Khan Sir has rejected allegations of wrongdoing, stating that the firing occurred during a sudden scuffle and was an act of self-defence. He argued that security personnel were compelled to respond when the situation escalated, as police arrival was delayed.

He also questioned criticism of his guards, saying they are employed to protect people during emergencies. During an address to students, he presented CCTV footage and alleged that key individuals involved in the clash had not yet been arrested.

The investigation remains open, and police have indicated that further action will be taken based on findings from the ongoing probe.
