New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has recently made arbitrary claims on the issue of ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which has become a matter of concern for India. On May 10, Trump posted on X and claimed that India and Pakistan had accepted the ceasefire. Trump not only talked about a ceasefire but also talked about resolving Kashmir as a "thousand-year-old issue" quickly.

The country's well-known journalist Manoj Tibrewal Aakash analyzed this in his special show "The MTA Speaks" and said that the Indian Foreign Ministry's stand has been clear that Kashmir is India's internal matter and no third country's mediation is accepted in this context. While talking to the media at the White House, Trump said, "I am proud to tell you that we have stopped a nuclear war." However, his claim was immediately rejected by India.

Donald Trump's boastful claim

These absurd statements of Trump are sending the message that he is not only making fabricated claims to strengthen his position but he is also taking Pakistan's side in a contradictory manner. Shashi Tharoor, who is a Congress MP from Kerala, has strongly opposed Trump's statements. He said that Trump has weakened India's interests, and his statements are 'deeply disappointing.'

Shashi Tharoor objected to Trump's claim

Tharoor wrote on social media, "Trump's comments undermine India's long-standing stand on cross-border terrorism and Kashmir." He also warned that Trump's comments could put the diplomatic progress achieved over decades at risk. Tharoor clarified that "India will never talk to a terrorist with a gun to its temple."

Trump claims to mediate in India-Pak relations

In this matter, he stressed that Trump's offer of mediation gives Pakistan the legitimacy it should not have. Tharoor said, "India has never sought and will never seek mediation by any foreign country on its problems with Pakistan."

Reacting to Trump's statements, Tharoor also pointed out that these comments have led to an attempt to bring India and Pakistan's relations together on the global stage in a new way. He said that for decades, world leaders have been advised not to visit India and Pakistan together, and Trump's statements are breaking this framework.

India's clear stand

India's stand has always been that Kashmir is a bilateral issue, and it does not welcome any third-party intervention in this matter. Trump's statements disappoint India as they give undue importance to Pakistan and bring the issue to the international level.

This episode of Trump's bragging has once again proved that sometimes it is necessary to hold back, especially when the topic is so sensitive at the global level.
