New Delhi: With the growing popularity of Vande Bharat Express trains, Indian Railways has decided to introduce additional stops on two key routes. The trial stoppages will be at Kirloskarwadi on the Pune-Hubli Vande Bharat Express and at Daund on the CSMT-Solapur Vande Bharat Express. This move is expected to benefit passengers from these regions, enabling them to access high speed and comfortable rail travel directly from their local stations.

The Central Railway has confirmed that train number 22225 operating from CSMT to Solapur will stop at Daund station at 8:13 pm, while the return train number 22226 from Solapur to CSMT will halt at Daund at 8:08 am. Similarly, train number 20670 from Pune to Hubli will stop at Kirloskarwadi at 5:43 pm, and the return train number 20669 from Hubli to Pune will halt there at 9:38 am.

The Vande Bharat Express continues to be a preferred choice for passengers due to its premium features. Designed and built indigenously, these trains offer superior safety, high speed, modern amenities, and a comfortable travel experience. The new trial stops are expected to further improve regional connectivity, making travel more convenient for passengers in these areas.

Last month Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new Vande Bharat trains across the country. The new routes include Varanasi to Khajuraho, Lucknow to Saharanpur, Firozpur to Delhi, and Ernakulam to Bengaluru. These trains are expected to significantly reduce travel time between cities while enhancing tourism and trade. The flagging off ceremony was marked by chants of Har Har Mahadev from enthusiastic passengers.

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Faces Quality and Design Issues

Meanwhile the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, India’s first 16-car high speed sleeper train, has faced delays due to design and quality concerns. The Railway Ministry highlighted issues related to furnishings workmanship and overall design, including poorly fitted curtain handles sharp edges and cleaning challenges around berth connectors.

The Research Designs and Standards Organisation submitted its compliance report, and the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety is reviewing the train before granting operational clearance. The final route of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is yet to be confirmed but once operational it is expected to revolutionize long distance travel in India.
