Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hailed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections as a “vision for a self-reliant and developed Bihar.” In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the document reflects the alliance’s dedication to improving the lives of every section of society, from farmers and youth to women and families across the state.

“The NDA’s manifesto for the Bihar elections clearly brings forward our vision for a self-reliant and developed Bihar,” Modi wrote. “It reflects our commitment to making life easier for farmers, youth companions, mothers, sisters, and all my family members of the state.”

He also lauded Bihar’s “double-engine government”, saying it has driven all-round development and pledged to accelerate progress further. Modi expressed confidence that voters would once again back the NDA’s governance model.

Amit Shah Calls It Blueprint for ‘Developed Bihar’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the manifesto, describing it as a “blueprint for transforming Bihar from heritage to high-tech.” In his social media post, Shah said the state was ready to leap “from education to public welfare” under the NDA’s new plan.

He highlighted key proposals such as Mithila Mega Textile Park, Mega Tech City, Fintech City, Medicity, and Sports City, which aim to turn Bihar into an industrial and innovation hub. Shah also mentioned tourism initiatives including the Ramayana, Jain, and Buddhist Circuits, and the creation of 1 lakh green homestays to promote eco-tourism.

He said initiatives like the Flood Management Board and “Flood to Fortune” project would make Bihar flood-free while boosting rural livelihoods.

Manifesto Unveiled in Patna with 25 Major Promises

The manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra – Viksit Bihar’, was released at Hotel Maurya in Patna in the presence of top NDA leaders — Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP president JP Nadda, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary addressed the media, outlining the alliance’s 25 key promises. The major highlights include:

  • 1 crore government jobs and employment opportunities.
  • Empowering 1 crore women as “Lakhpati Didis.”
  • ₹1 lakh crore investment in agriculture and industrial infrastructure.
  • Launch of Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi, offering ₹9,000 annually to farmers.
  • Mega skill centers in each district and plans to make Bihar a global skilling hub.
  • Free ration, 125 units of free electricity, and ₹5 lakh health coverage.
  • Free quality education from KG to PG for students from poor families.
  • Seven new expressways, metro in four cities, and a greenfield international airport near Patna.
  • Establishment of AI training centers, Education City, and defense and semiconductor parks.

Promise of a New Bihar

The NDA leaders said their goal was to build a “Developed Bihar by 2030”, focusing on infrastructure, industrialization, women’s empowerment, and education. The alliance projected that the new initiatives would generate employment, boost rural incomes, and transform Bihar into a hub for innovation and global investment.

With a strong emphasis on governance and inclusivity, the NDA’s vision seeks to connect Bihar’s heritage with its technological future. Whether voters see it as credible transformation or political optimism will be revealed at the ballot box.
