New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the strictest possible punishment for those involved in examination paper leaks, describing the prevention of such incidents as a national responsibility at the BJP's Parliamentary Party's 'Mangal Milan' meeting on Tuesday.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju shared the Prime Minister’s remarks after the NDA Parliamentary Party’s ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting on Tuesday. According to Rijiju, PM Modi stressed the need for collective efforts to create a secure and foolproof examination system.
The Prime Minister urged NDA allies to remain united in supporting the government’s legislative agenda during the ongoing Parliament session. He also appealed to opposition parties to participate constructively in parliamentary proceedings.
Rijiju quoted PM Modi as saying that political differences may remain, but every Member of Parliament has a common responsibility to work for the country’s future and protect the interests of young people.
The statement came a day after thousands of students and protesters attempting to march towards Parliament were stopped by security personnel. Police used tear gas and carried out a lathi-charge during the demonstration, triggering allegations of excessive force.
The protest was led by the Cockroach Janta Party, which is demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, particularly the NEET paper leak controversy.
NEET is among India’s biggest entrance examinations, with more than two million medical aspirants appearing for the test. The examination was cancelled in May following allegations that its question paper had been leaked before the scheduled test. A fresh examination was later conducted.

The controversy has added to broader concerns over the credibility of national examinations. Students have also raised complaints about an online evaluation system used for CBSE examinations, alleging incorrect marks and results being assigned to the wrong candidates.
The growing anger over examination irregularities has now emerged as a major political issue during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
